As the power conversion equipment of PV power station, inverter occupies a pivotal position in the whole power station. Solar inverter is a power electronic device that converts the low-voltage DC power generated by the modules into AC power, which is connected to the load or integrated into the power grid, and is the core device in the photovoltaic system. Grid-connected inverters have the following main functions: converting DC power generated by PV modules into AC power; dynamically finding and utilizing the maximum power point (MPP) to maximize the available power through a maximum power tracker; recording operating data; and providing current, voltage and local grid-related protection.

Common installation solutions for ground-based distributed projects: can be installed under a string of modules nearby, using fixed bracket mounting or using clamp mounting to fix the equipment directly on the columns. This option requires attention to the strength of the brackets and holding posts and the height of the PV inverter above the ground to prevent placing it too low to flood the equipment with rainwater during heavy rainstorms.

For outdoor installation, a rain and sun canopy should be installed on top of the inverter to avoid direct sunlight and rain soaking.

3. Microinverter system: Microinverters can be installed directly on the bracket below the component, or integrated with the component to realize modular design to achieve plug-and-play. Micro inverters are small, do not occupy the installation space independently. How long is the design life of an inverter?

Generally speaking, the design life of the inverter determines the service life of the PV system. According to statistics, the design life of a conventional inverter is about 10 years, and the inverter needs to be considered for replacement once in the 20-year service life of the power plant.
